| At
VanIsle Custom Adventures we believe that tourism is the
way to make it possible to move away from the resource-based
industries on which British Columbia has always been dependent.
We are also conscious that even tourism can have harmful
effects on some of the sensitive ecosystems we visit as tourists.
Because it is vital that we preserve what we have here, VanIsle
endeavours to work only with ethical tour operators who have
a strong commitment to protecting the natural environment
of the places we visit.
We donate a portion of our profits to the Western Canada
Wilderness Committee or the Oceans Blue Foundation, for their
use in helping preserve Beautiful British Columbia.
The Wilderness
Committee is Canada’s largest membership-based
organization dedicated to wilderness preservation. For over
twenty years, it has been committed to preserving the remaining
wilderness in Canada and throughout the world. It has made
a positive impact on the future of Canadian wilderness: millions
of hectares of wild places and fresh water have been protected—for
wildlife, and for the future.
Oceans Blue Foundation is a Canadian environmental charity created in 1996
to help conserve coastal environments through environmentally responsible tourism.
Its focus is on developing and promoting best practices and standards for all
sectors of the tourism industry.
By travelling
with VanIsle Custom Adventures, you will be certain that
you are doing your part to protect the beauty
of what you see here… for when you return, and for
your children’s children!

Who
am I?
I was born in Toronto, Ontario, of German parents, and my first language was
German. In 1982, I moved to Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and have lived
in BC ever since. I spent eight years working for BC Ferries on the Inside
Passage, and moved to Vancouver Island in 1987. During the many years I have
lived here, I have spent much of my free time exploring the ‘road less
travelled.’ I’ve had many wonderful experiences, and met many wonderful
people!
Now,
I’d love to share some of these adventures with you.
If you would like to explore this beautiful place in a
respectful and environmentally friendly way that preserves
this beauty for generations to come, please contact me.
I’ll do my utmost to ensure you get the most from
your time on Vancouver Island and along the Inside Passage,
by arranging a trip that suits your time, your path, and
your budget.
